Wawa always considers any site that is submitted. We are actively working in all market areas and may have other sites in consideration which we cannot disclose or other market and site considerations we have already investigated in that area. Our site criteria is our basic guideline for site selection for prospective sellers. There is also extensive area market research conducted and taken into consideration. How do I apply for a job at a Wawa store?
We handle all of our applications online on Wawa.com. Click here to open our online application. The site will guide you through our step-by-step application process. (The process should take 30-40 minutes to complete.)
I heard that you're opening a new store near me. Can I apply before it opens?
Yes. Check back online to see when the positions become open. We usually start accepting applications for new stores 5-6 weeks before a store opens.
How long does the application process take?
Most people say that it takes them 30-40 minutes to finish the application process.
I applied on-line for a position, what happens next?
Thanks for applying! Now that we've received your application, it will be routed to the store you applied for. However, our stores are not always hiring and we receive thousands of applications every month, so you may not be contacted back. It's always best to stop in and speak to the hiring manager and let them know you're interested. Your application will remain active in our system for 90 days. After that, you should re-apply.
Do I have to start as a Customer Service Associate to become a General Manager?
No. While we love promoting associates from within, we also have opportunities in which we hire management associates from outside Wawa. Looking for open positions in store management? Click here.
I'm still attending college; can I be scheduled around my classes?
Generally yes. Because many of our stores are open 24-hours, there are multiple shifts and times available for our associates to work. Many of our associates are currently attending college and even transfer to a Wawa closer to home during long breaks or between semesters.
Do you offer internships?
Yes, and we offer specialized opportunities for college students looking to plan their next step after graduation. You can check out our website to review available opportunities, career events we are attending that may be of interest to you and our College Graduate Leadership Training Program which is an opportunity for after graduation.
Do you offer health benefits to part time employees?
Yes. Health benefits are offered to associates who consistently work more than 34.5 hours per week. See benefits page for more details.
How do I check the status of jobs that I have applied to?
You can check the status of your application by either visiting the store manager of the store you applied to, or by using the contact us link here on the site.
Can I apply even if there isn't a specific position currently available that is of interest to me?
For corporate positions, you can apply even if a specific position is not available. For store positions however, we need you to select the position you are interested in. This helps us sort through the applications we receive more efficiently.
If I'm not selected for a job, will someone notify me?
You will be notified if you've been selected to interview for a job. Our stores are not always hiring and we receive thousands of applications every month, so you may not be contacted back if you are not selected for a job. Your application will remain active in our system for 90 days, after that, you should re-apply.

Why does Wawa care about fuel surcharges?
Plain and simple, our advertising campaign is about straightening out a common misunderstanding about fuel pricing, and providing our customers with the most competitive and fair pricing in the market. Wawa stores are committed to offering our customers a quick fueling stop that guarantees quality at low prices regardless of their method of payment. Increasingly, gas retailers are featuring two prices – one for cash and another higher price for credit, and customers are unaware of this. So while the price retailers are advertising appears to be low, when the transaction is paid for with credit, several cents per gallon are added, and this is known as a "surcharge." We want our customers to understand surcharges and know they never have to pay a surcharge at Wawa.
How can I know when retailers are surcharging?
Look for the fine print on retailers' signs and advertisements. Be sure to double-check the price at the pump vs. the price on the sign.
So Wawa never adds a surcharge when I pay for fuel with my credit card?
Correct. None of Wawa's fuel retail stores add a credit surcharge. At Wawa, we do not surcharge customers for anything. We believe in simple, clear pricing for all products, including fuel. We are simplifying our customers' lives by alerting them to the difference, and making sure they don't end up paying fees they don't have to.
Does adding a charge to a credit card purchase really qualify as a surcharge?
Yes, we think so. While some are referring to it as a "cash discount" we don't agree. Our credit and cash price are the same – the same low price whether you pay cash or credit. Others may advertise a low cash price, but when you pay with credit, the price will be higher.
Has Wawa ever tested a two-tier pricing method?
Years ago, we tested the concept of tiered pricing, where we featured a true cash discount. The feedback we received from customers was clear. They were confused by the approach, so we stopped providing this option. The vast majority of our fuel customers pay with credit. Therefore, we want to simplify their lives with one low price for cash or credit.
Will this affect the cost of fuel?
We cannot make predictions about fuel prices, as they change on a daily basis. However, at Wawa, you'll always get fair, honest pricing. This is our promise. Wawa will continue to provide fuel at the most competitive prices possible and offer value, quality and convenience to our customers.
Does Wawa sell Diesel fuel?
As more auto makers are now offering diesel-powered automobiles and light-duty trucks, Wawa has begun to add ULSD Diesel to its fuel offer at many of our locations. Please use the Wawa store locator to determine which stores have been updated to offer Diesel.
Can I always pay at the pump?
Absolutely. We are committed to providing the speediest and simplest way for customers to fuel their cars. Each store has CRIND (Card Reader IN Dispenser) system that enables completion of credit card transactions at the pump.
Is Wawa gas blended with Ethanol?
Yes, many Wawa fuel stores now sell gasoline blended with up to 10% ethanol. In the fuel industry, refiners are phasing out the gasoline additive MTBE and beginning to use ethanol as a blending component. This low-level ethanol blend is called E10 Fuel. E10 is a blend of 90% unleaded fuel with 10% ethanol – a clean burning fuel made from corn and other grains. Customers should notice no difference from a performance perspective and this low-level blend of ethanol is approved for use in all fuel vehicles. Wawa sources fuel from many refineries. Major refineries are converting to using ethanol due to a variety of reasons, including recent changes in the law. As local supply is converted, Wawa stores have been converted to sell only ethanol-blended fuels – or E10 fuel.
Which Wawa stores sell fuel with E10?
All stores in counties requiring reformulated fuel have switched to E10 for all octane grades.
Will fuel with E10 affect my vehicle?
You should notice no difference. Every car manufacturer selling vehicles in the United States approves the use of 10% ethanol blends (E10) in their engines, and in fact many recommend them.
What does Wawa cover under the Fuel Guarantee Program?
If it is demonstrated that fuel purchased at Wawa is the cause of fuel-related problems, the Wawa Fuel Quality Guarantee covers associated repairs as well as the cost of a tow and reimbursement for the gas purchased that caused the problem.
What documentation is required?
To file a claim, a certified technician will need to fill out the technician report on the claim form, sign, and the form will need to be submitted along with the repair order or invoice listing the fuel-related problems that were corrected and the paid cost of each.
What happens once a claim form is submitted?
If it is determined that your claim needs to be assessed by an independent third party, you will receive a letter in the mail advising you that the claim has been submitted for assessment. Once the assessment is completed, you will be given a call to update you on status. If your claim is processed without an independent third party review, you will receive a call advising you of the reimbursement amount.
Can I pump my own diesel in NJ?
Yes, our customers may dispense their own diesel in the State of New Jersey.
How often do you test your pumps for accuracy?
At Wawa, ensuring the accuracy of our pumps is a top priority, therefore we go above and beyond regulatory requirements by testing our dispensers, using a highly advanced Accumeasure Testing System®, once per year.

Applying for the Wawa® Credit Card
Is the online application secure?
Yes. Please be assured that Citibank uses one of the most secure encryption technologies available today.
What are the Wawa® Credit Card application requirements?
The personal application requirements are first and last name, home address, phone number, date of birth and social security number, and email address.
The financial gas card application requirements are residence status (rent, own, or other), monthly mortgage or rent payment, and annual salary and wages. Applications can also provide any other additional income if applicable.
Are Wawa® Credit Card accounts revolving or non-revolving?
The Wawa Credit Card offers revolving lines of credit, which lets card members pay the monthly minimum instead of paying the full balance.
What is the credit limit?
Your credit limit will be assigned based upon your income and other factors when your application is reviewed. Your credit limit will be reflected on your monthly statement.
Why do you need my Social Security number?
Your Social Security number, which is requested on consumer card applications, is used strictly for personal identification and to establish the account.
Why do you need to know my income?
Your income will help determine your credit limit as well as establish your new credit card account.
If an authorized user is added to the account, will their credit be checked as well?
No. Since you’re authorizing another person to use your credit card, there is no need to check their credit history.
How long does it take to get approved for/receive my card?
Citibank will notify you of a decision to issue the Wawa Credit Card within 30 days from receipt of the application. Provided your application is approved, you will be sent your Wawa Credit Card seven to ten business days from approval.
How do I earn my rebates with the Wawa Credit Card Program?
You will receive statement credits based upon fuel purchases made with your Wawa® Credit Card at Wawa locations within the United States. You will earn a credit of five cents ($.05) per gallon on up to one hundred (100) gallons in each billing cycle that you purchase Wawa fuel in accordance with these terms. Gallons purchased will be considered for a credit in the billing cycle they are posted to your account. Credits will only be earned on fuel purchases made for personal, family or household purposes. Credits will be automatically posted to your monthly billing statement. Your account must remain open and current in order for you to earn credits. We decide whether your purchase is eligible for a credit, and our decision may be based upon the information provided to us about your purchase by the Wawa station where your purchase was made. We reserve the right to make adjustments to credits you have received in the event an adjustment is issued with respect to your Wawa fuel purchases. When calculating the amount of the credit, we will multiply the number of gallons purchased by five cents ($.05) and round to the nearest cent. In the event gallon information is not available for a specific transaction, we will determine the number of gallons purchased by dividing the total purchase amount by an average price per gallon amount obtained from the U.S. Department of Energy. We will use the average price per gallon from the U.S. Department of Energy for the specific grade of fuel purchased, or in the event the fuel grade information is not provided to us, we will use the average price per gallon amount from the U.S. Department of Energy for regular unleaded fuel.

How do I get Mobile Ordering on the Wawa App?
Our Mobile Ordering feature is still in a testing phase with a limited group of participants. However, the feature will soon be available to all Wawa Rewards members with a registered gift card. To be among the first people to get the inside scoop on availability, download the Wawa App, join Wawa Rewards, and add a Wawa Gift Card to your app.
How do I access Mobile Ordering within the Wawa App?
For both iPhone and Android users, the Mobile Ordering icon features a fork and spoon.
Mobile users can access the feature by:
- Tapping the Mobile Ordering icon on the main Wawa App screen
- Tapping the “Ordering” tab in the main menu, accessed by tapping the three lines in the upper left corner of the app home screen
- For iOS users, tapping the Mobile Ordering icon on the main navigation located at the bottom of your screen
When, and how, do I pay for my order?
You will pay for your order at the register once you arrive for pickup. The cashier will scan your virtual order slip in your app and you can pay by whatever method you prefer (Wawa App, credit card, cash, etc.).
Do I need to have a Wawa Gift Card loaded in the app to use Mobile Ordering?
Only those Wawa App users who have added a gift card to their Wawa Rewards account will be able to access Mobile Ordering.
If an image is missing, can I still order that item?
Yes, our application developers are still in the process of adding all images.
How do I navigate the "wheel" when ordering?
To navigate through all the items in a category, slide the “wheel” up/down. To change the category – from bread, to cheese, to spreads – use the red arrow on the right. To select an item, just click the item on the wheel and a green check will appear to show you have successfully made your selection.
Are the menus up to date?
Yes, all items you see in the app are available to order. If you do not see an item or ingredient, the store you have selected may be temporarily out of that item. If you have selected an item or ingredient that has become unavailable you will be notified before finalizing your order.
After I make my hoagie selections the "Next" button is still not available.
Make sure you have selected an item from every category required for your hoagie. For instance, if you do not want cheese, you must select “No Cheese.”
Normally, the touch screen in store lists recommended milk or cheese with certain items. Are recommendations available on the app?
Currently, the app does not offer these recommendations.
Once I place my order with the app, how long before it gets made?
To ensure that your order is as fresh as possible, we’ll start preparing it when you get close to the store. This is why the app requires that you have Location Services set to “Always.” When you get close to the store, you’ll receive a notification on your mobile device letting you know we’ve started to prepare your order.
What happens if I am at the store, and I still haven’t received a notification?
Ask the Food Service Associates behind the deli counter whether they have received your order. If they did, your order will be processed, and you will need to access your virtual order slip within the Wawa App and pay at the register. Please see Question 14 to learn how to access your virtual order slip.
How will I know my order is being processed?
You will get a notification on your mobile device when you get close to the store. See Question 10 for more details.
Tap the notification to bring up your virtual order slip, present the slip on the screen to the Associate at the register, and pay for your order.
If my virtual order slip didn’t pop up on my phone, where can I find it?
There are two ways to find your virtual order slip.
1. You can click on the Push Message notification that appears once you enter the store
2. Tap the order banner at the bottom of the app’s home screen
I selected a store, but I want to go to a different Wawa. What do I do?
Within the Mobile Ordering section of the Wawa App, you can select “Change Store.”
If you’ve already placed an order, there are two ways to change your store: One way is to tap “View Details” on your order notification at the bottom of the screen, then “Edit Order” and select “Change Store.”
Or you can tap “Order” at the top right of the screen in the Mobile Ordering section of the app, and then select “Change Store.”
What happens if a store doesn’t have the items I want?
If the store doesn’t have the items you want, they won’t be listed. If they run out of the items you want after you placed an order, you will get a notification, with the option to edit or cancel your order.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes. To edit an item, tap the Orders icon at the top right of your screen. Then tap “Edit” at the top right of your screen to remove items. Or within your Order, you can swipe left on an item to remove.
To cancel your order, tap the Orders icon at the top right of your screen, tap “Edit” at the top right of your screen, and tap “Cancel Order.”
How can I ask questions or send feedback?
You can send all feedback, suggestions, or questions right in the app. Simply tap the “Feedback” option within the app’s main menu, and select the Mobile App & Rewards category.
Will I earn Wawa Rewards through Mobile Ordering?
To earn Wawa Rewards, you must register a Wawa Gift Card to your account and use that gift card or the Wawa App as your method of payment in store. Simply using the Mobile Ordering feature will not earn Wawa Rewards.
