Throughout the eight days of exciting Wawa Welcome America! events, Wawa will give out thousands of Wawa Iced Teas, Lemonade Teas, and Raspberry Lemonades, among other fan favorites; hoagies, and smoothies at various events. We’ll also hand out celebratory hats and American flags throughout the festival!
To continue its commitment to FREE family fun throughout Wawa Welcome America!, Wawa will provide the opportunity to explore the National Constitution Center during TWO free days this year.
Wawa invites you to enjoy a free day at the National Constitution Center, including “Freedom Rising,” a live 17-minute theatrical performance presented in the newly renovated Sidney Kimmel Theater, the "Story of We the People" Exhibit, and Signers’ Hall. Plus, don’t miss the new feature exhibit, Headed to the White House. A Wawa display will feature Wawa’s history in the Philadelphia region, and you can "vote" for the next new featured Hoagie variety!
Join Wawa associates, Food Network Chef Robert Irvine, WMMR’s Preston & Steve and hoagie fans from across the region for the 24th annual Wawa Hoagie Day. Hoagie Day is dedicated to honoring our troops and building on The Wawa Foundation’s partnership with the USO. The event will begin with a salute to our local and national Heroes – our military service men and women, firefighters, and police officers. This includes a hoagie march by military heroes and re-enactors. In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Liberty USO, 75 volunteers will be honored for their service to our military members and families. The annual “Hoagies for Heroes” contest will again feature Philadelphia fire, police, and members of the Air and Army National Guard competing in a hoagie-building contest for charity. More than 5 tons of Wawa hoagies will be distributed FREE to the crowd. Special appearance by Food Network Chef Robert Irvine and the USO Show Troupe.

A second day of FREE admission to the National Constitution Center provided by Wawa All attendees to the museum can explore the special exhibits planned in honor of our nation’s birthday.
Police Athletic League Recognition Wawa continues its salute of everyday heroes this week by recognizing the police officers who serve the community through the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia.
Featured Exhibit of the Day Experience Headed to the White House the only exhibit of its kind, uniquely created to engage visitors of all ages with the excitement of the election season. Join the race, earn the nomination, and win the election as artifacts, interactives, and hands-on activities take you from the campaign trail and into the Oval Office – all in one visit.

The City of Philadelphia invites residents and visitors to pay tribute to our great nation through inspiring remarks, patriotic music and a reading of the Declaration of Independence from notable guests, including Mayor Jim Kenney and Hamilton’s Leslie Odom, Jr. During the ceremony, we’ll also present The Wawa Foundation Hero Award and a $50,000 grant to a Philadelphia-area non-profit organization with the most inspiring story of what “Hero” means to them. Join us as we honor the winner and runners-up, as well as all the non-profits who are working to inspire and improve our nation’s communities.
Each year, the highlight of Wawa Welcome America! is the July 4th Independence Day Parade, the Party on the Parkway, and the largest free concert in America! Wawa Associates will hand out more than 40,000 FREE Wawa teas, juices, lemonades, and waters throughout the day starting at the Independence Day Parade in historic Philadelphia in the morning and throughout the afternoon during the Party on the Parkway! Wawa associates will also be giving out patriotic event hats to wear and flags to wave in patriotism to celebrate our nation’s birthday!
