The Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is hosting its annual Promise Ball on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel (1200 Market Street) starting at 6:00 PM. The 2011 Promise Ball will honor Howard Stoeckel, President & CEO of Wawa, Inc. Guests of the black-tie event will enjoy cocktails and silent auction, dinner, music and dancing by the Melanie Rice Orchestra, a special live auction and Fund A Cure. The Master of Ceremonies will be actor and entertainer, Dave King as well as Jamie Apody of 6abc. Read More
Wawa Cheers On and Boosts Up Race for the Cure Participants

Wawa, Inc. today proudly announced that, for the 19th straight year, the company is sponsoring and cheering on the Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure, a fundraising event held annually on Mother’s Day that is dedicated to fulfilling the promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and engerizng science to find the cures. Not only will Wawa serve as the Race’s primary local food sponsor for the 18th year in row, but also hundreds of Wawa volunteers will be standing by to boost up race participants and their supporters with Wawa food and beverages at the company’s food tent. The goal of the Environmental Community Service award is to raise awareness of environmental concerns and to recognize middle and high schools in the Delaware Valley for their efforts in environmental service projects that enhance and improve the quality of life in their communities.
